1. Practitioner’s Qualifications and Experience:
Nix is trained and certified as a Reiki level 2 Practitioner in the Usui tradition. Her Reiki Master is registered with the UK Reiki Federation. She has experience treating clients both in-person and with distance healing. Her preference is to provide distance healing since this can be arranged more easily to suit individuals schedules and also has more consistent results because the recipient is usually more relaxed in their own environment. Nix has expanded this traditional training to also offer a more heart led, intuitive style of energy healing.
2. Trust and Comfort:
You should make sure that you are comfortable with the approach, this can be determined at a consultation phone call prior to you booking a session. How to Prepare for a Reiki or Energy Healing Session
Drink a glass of water before your session, it supports the body’s energetic flow and helps you stay grounded. Turn off your phone (or put it on Do Not Disturb) and tell everyonein your home that you’ll be taking time out for yourself. Find a quiet, comfortable spot where you won’t be disturbed. This could be your bed, sofa or even a cozy chair with a blanket. Dim the lights, light a candle or bring in calming scents if you like.
I will contact you prior to the treatment. You will not be on the phone while the treatment is taking place. Put on some calming music, (there is a link to a Spotify playlist at the bottom of this section that you may wish to use). When you start the music, take some deep relaxing breaths and close your eyes. Try to remain present, listening to the music. If your mind does wander gently bring it back to the music and any feelings you are experiencing in your body. You may feel heat, tingling or pressure on different areas of your body during treatment. You may see colours, feel emotional, feel deeply relaxed, be in a dream like state or even fall asleep, this is perfectly normal.
Try to relax as much as possible, don’t try to ‘fix’ yourself or think about the things that you are wanting treated, just enjoy the relaxation and let the energy flow. Trust that the energy will go where it’s needed.
After the treatment has ended your practitioner will contact you to discuss the treatment, ask how you feel and to see if you have any questions.

What Are Chakras?
Chakras are energy centres within the body that influence our physical health, emotional balance and spiritual well-being. Originating from ancient India, chakras form the foundation of many holistic practices, including Reiki.
Why Are Chakras Important in Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive healing practice that works by channeling universal life force energy to support your natural ability to heal. Chakras play a key role in this process.
Chakra Healing with Reiki or Energy Healing
Chakras regulate the flow of energy throughout the body. When one or more chakras are blocked or overactive, it can lead to physical symptoms, emotional imbalance or spiritual disconnection. Reiki and Energy Healing gently align and balance the chakras to support healing on every level; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Chakra alignment ensures that energy is flowing freely and harmoniously.
Reiki practitioners and Energy Healers often intuit or sense where energy is blocked. For example:
– A blocked Heart Chakra might reflect grief or trust issues.
– An overactive Solar Plexus Chakra might present as anxiety or a need for control.
Regular Reiki or Energy Healing sessions can bring awareness to chakra imbalances and help restore equilibrium, supporting greater peace, resilience and inner clarity.

Reiki as defined by the Oxford English dictionary is:
“A healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being”.
It is however, also widely accepted that Reiki healing can be given and received equally effectively hands-off or via distant healing. The Japanese word ‘Reiki’ literally translates as universal life force energy. This system of healing was developed by Mikao Usui the early 20th century. It is a non-invasive complementary therapy that has been taught and used in the UK since the late 1900s, but Eastern medicine has for thousands of years worked with this energy, recognising its flow through all living things.
Reiki supports orthodox medicine or can be used alone but is not a replacement for traditional medication or treatments. It is not based on any belief, faith or suggestion, yet, scientific research using quantum physics is starting to help us to understand how Reiki healing may work to benefit the individual. It has been suggested that in years to come it may be known as energy medicine based on scientifically measurable energy emitted from the practitioner’s hands.
Scientific research findings may help us to understand how Reiki healing works
There is much to learn and more research is necessary before a definitive explanation can be given, but research is producing very interesting results:
• When giving Reiki, practitioners have been shown to emit electro-magnetic or bio-magnetic energy from their hands. The frequencies of the energy emitted vary from one moment to the next; but many appear to correspond to those that medical researchers have identified as being the optimum frequencies for stimulating the healing process in tissues, bones and other body parts so far investigated.
• The bio-magnetic energy (or field) flowing from a practitioner’s hands has been shown to induce current flows in the tissues and cells of individuals who are in close proximity but this pulsing energy is not produced by non-practitioners of energy healing techniques.
Two ways in which these pulsing magnetic fields may stimulate repair of bone and other tissues include:
• A cascade of reactions takes place from the cell surface to the cytoplasm and on to the nucleus and genes, where selective effects on the DNA have been documented.
• A phenomenon called amplification, in which a single hormone molecule, neurotransmitter or photon of electromagnetic energy has been shown to trigger a cellular response; and in fact very tiny fields have been shown to produce the best effects, suggesting that living tissues are much more sensitive to external fields than previously considered possible.
NB: A bio-magnetic field can also be created by passing electric currents through living tissue as has been used for medical diagnoses and treatments for almost a century for example in ECG & MRI scanning.
Reiki is often referred to as an intelligent form of healing. It is suggested that this and similar energy therapies may be valuable in the prevention and remission of some serious diseases that are so costly in terms of human suffering and likely to be more expensive to health care in the future.
